music: the playlist for "x/1999: the musical" must get cosplay materials for: ayame from "fruits basket" i will scream if i ever have to watch: more than the next three episodes of "slam dunk"
Yes, I'm plotting out an "X" musical. Yes, I'll post about it here. No, I'm not finished yet. But I will tell you this: it involves Sorata singing "I Believe In You" to Kamui, and you do get to hear Seishirou's last words. Sung. Hee. I'm pretty sure people are tired of hearing me say "I'm a dork", but I grew up believing that my love of musicals was an aberration in social circles outside of my family, so I have to get used to the fact that showtunes do hold power and pleasure for people other than me.
Oh, because my brain was wandering in Sociology:
Chibi Seishirou Chibi-Neko-Kamui Chibi Subaru
I'm off to bed.

i've been this way before
music: "sixteen going on seventeen", from "the sound of music", in my head as it has been for the past six hours estimated days of pms left: four gratitude for the japanese nation and the pms-friendly food it produces: oh, through the fucking roof
I hate my uterus. Even though the various PMS-reducing medications I've taken have indeed helped me a lot--it used to be that the only thing I could ingest during my period was water--I still eat like a bird and feel like a 'flu victim. Lucky me, though, I got to go to the Japanese supermarket yesterday, and I bought a bag of nice light rice crackers that just about hit the spot. And a baked sweet potato. I love sweet potatoes.
Also, does anyone know why used obi are generally more expensive than used kimono? It's starting to really get to me. Yes, I know obi are usually eleven feet long, but... there's got to be less fabric there. Um, and eBay sellers? I appreciate that you sell your stuff cheap, I really do. It means I can afford comfortable gorgeous things and presents for my friends. But are you sure it costs thirty dollars to ship from Japan to the US?
Whatever. Ugh. More rice crackers for the Lisa.

i'm turning japanese...
music: "liberali fatalis", by, um... i forget ^^;;; marshmallow peeps sacrificed to our microwave: two
Know why I love eBay? You can find silk kimono for twenty bucks. ^_______^
Also, you know why I love my mom?
See, I mentioned to her a few weeks before my birthday that even though I'd made a kimono for myself, it'd be cool to have an actual Japanese one. She went on vacation to Walt Disney World in Florida, and on Saturday night when she gave me my birthday present, I thought I'd cry or have a heart attack or both. She found me a kimono while she was there and she'd kept it hidden from me for a whole month. It's long and black and has golden dragons and tigers all over it. "The dragon is for power and the tiger is for success, I think," she said. I think it's the most beautiful and thoughtful thing I've ever gotten for a birthday, and the next chance I get I'm wearing it out.
Which means the Sakura Matsuri next weekend is going to be a complete blast--Bridget, you want to borrow my blue kimono and come with? ^_~ We can be the showiest gaijin there...

stuck in my head: "magic dance" from "labyrinth unjustifiable emotional bent du jour: preening can't wait to: wake up tomorrow and have it be my birthday
As much as I hate having had to get up before nine o'clock this morning, it's the day before my birthday. And a Thursday.
So, yeah, anyway... sitting in the lab scanning, waiting for an appointment and then lunch. This is the most scanning I've done in a looooong time...
By the way, I may need alternate hosting for my layout pics if I don't get a domain name in April. (And the mid-April layout image, which I like to think of as finished, is available to peek at here.)

Ugh. Aside from the earrings and the ebay auction, what a shitty day. And it's not even two o'clock yet. I need a smoke and a cup of tea and a movie to veg out in front of.
Maybe I'll work on the X Anime Society pictures some more. Burning apocalyptic death with gears and feathers always cheers me up.
No, seriously.

I got an early birthday party! And champagne! Makes me so happy. :D
Um, there's not much I feel like saying at the moment that isn't all giggly and cutesy and happy, so I present what I've been doing for the last hour: Casting for the X Live-Action Movie.
I really hope someone can help me get those missing spaces filled up... and yes, I know the casting for Seishirou makes people's jaws drop, but just THINK about it for a minute. ^_~

shanananana... angina's tough...
music: "don't call me baby," madison avenue movie: "high fidelity" dvd i am willing to go down on my knees and beg my parents to buy: "strictly ballroom" special edition
ARGH. Lack of DJing program which will let me save to disk is really killing me. I want to do remixing today and... argh.
Quick note on the Academy Awards: Shame on the Academy for not nominating "Memento" as Best Picture. Or for choosing it for Best Original Screenplay. It was quite possibly the most stunningly original movie of the year. Costume direction was a good call; even if I wasn't that enthusiastic about every aspect of "Moulin Rouge", I did think the costume design was very strong and wonderfully stylized. It honestly brought back memories of "Strictly Ballroom's" great, evocative costumes (and Bridget, if you haven't seen this, come over to my house RIGHT NOW and watch it with me). I spit at the Academy for not choosing "Amelie" as Best Foreign Film. Okay, so I haven't seen the Bosnian film. But honestly... come on, Academy. It's "Amelie".
Also, I wish my mom would realise that hiding the Tenacious D album isn't going to do much good. I already know what the word "cock" means and how to use it in a sentence.

hello, i'd like to *beep* the academy...
music: subaru's character file, x drama cds craving: a smoke, x tv episode 16, and a cup of tea should stop putting off: installing os x on my imac
Boy howdy, I hate Mondays. I can never seem to really do anything productive, AND I have to get up at six-thirty--if you know me, you probably know I am appallingly fuzzy in the early part of the morning.
Today, however, had a bright spot: my mother bought a Tenacious D album and started playing it in the car. Now, I had never heard Tenacious D before this moment. Neither had she. Neither had my sixteen-year-old sister.
tenacious d: *singing* "Youuu... don't have to fuck her hard..." mom: *SWERVE*
We all laughed so hard we cried. Once mom had pulled the car over, of course.
