...and oh my god, I completely forgot what a blushing idiot I turn into when faced with a pretty girl who seems to be interested in me.
I swear, I'm going to end up buying a bunny just because I don't want to look like I'm stalking the cute girl at the pet store...

Went looking for another job today (as it's becoming clear that if I don't quit my current one, my sanity will be a non-existent animal by April).
There's part time work at the zoo.
Hello, Mr. Emperor Penguin! :D

For the record:
My bread is French, my kisses are French, and my fries are French.
And hot damn are the fries tasty with mayonnaise. Though Belgium's responsible for that, really.
(This post has been brought to you by the sound of uncontrollable laughter over yet another stupid linguistic decision. I can't wait till protesters start carrying "We're rubber and [nation we don't like] is glue" signs. XD)

Thank you. I wholeheartedly agree.
I have to say, no matter how many individual people completely fail to cover themselves in glory, the entire race is undoubtedly going somewhere, and that somewhere seems to be generally positive on the whole. Humans produce art and ideas and medicine and happy families and a whole lot of other things, and we're not incapable of change (though it's hard for most of us, and some of us will simply never get there).
Besides, humanity's just too big to condemn the entire thing offhand.
And the good guys are quite often capable of rather stunning displays of badassery. You'd be surprised what the right kind of headwind and lighting will do for a white trenchcoat and a firm but resolute smile.
*puts on her DoH armband* ^_^

From a review at Hentai Jump:
"...and [a] crack squad of lesbian commandos..."
Wow. Um. Can I have one for my birthday?

...totally out of context, but it made me smile:
"It is neither legal nor moral and likely to leave unpleasant stains on the carpet."
(Edit: On second thought, that could very well be advice from one of the calmer Seals to Seishirou the Dragon of Heaven when he starts glaring at Kamui. HEE.)

I'm not sure what's weirder: the realisation that I've known people who cannot be at their best/most alive unless they are in some way angry at something, or the fact that I've both worked for and dated those people.
Thank god for people who respond well to cookies. Dunno what I'd do without 'em. ^^

I had a friend over to dinner tonight because we'd both been feeling lonely and he was in need of real food. Made cookies, too, and talked over the dough.
And after three months of a job that's left me feeling powerless and unable to relate to people, and almost no social counterweight to that--I felt like I could breathe again.

Just so y'all know, Asprosdrakos is the god of my idolatry. She took a fic concept that I've had knocking around for a year and made it a hundred times more solid in the space of an hour.
If she comes to Shoujocon, there shall be baked goods for her, yes indeed.
(But then again, I do tend to use every available excuse to bake...)

If I drop off the face of the 'net for a couple of days, it's because of this game.
Y'all can keep Final Fantasy. This has my vote for Best Game Ever, and I've just been playing the piddly demo version. ^_^

So, right, I went to see "The Silent Woman" on Sunday (Ben Jonson, how dost thou 0wnz0r m3), and the theatre company that put it on had placards in the lobby that they set up probably during the curtain call, asking audience members and reviewers not to reveal the ending.
So I start wondering if this has ever successfully happened with a larger production or a movie. It's a lot easier to keep a secret before the movie is released (witness the Matrix sequels and the absolute bare-bones plot information we've gotten from the studio), but afterwards--the only example that I've heard of is "The Crying Game". Apparently reviewers were asked not to reveal the end of that and kept it under wraps quite nicely (gonna rent it and see what they weren't supposed to be talking about).
In other news, I need to get off my ass and finish coding quizzes.

...and also, since I'm a mental five-year-old, I was just tremendously amused to learn that the word "fart" was in circulation 300+ years ago. (Seriously, it was in the very first sentence of the second act!)

...HAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA Ben Jonson, you semi-crass, happycrackaddled GENIUS.
(In plain English, I saw "The Silent Woman" today, and I damn near fell out of my chair laughing. Best surprise ending of any play ever.)

So, we've known for a while that my step-gramma has Alzheimer's.
Today she forgot who I was.
I know it's part of the progression of the disease, but... it hurt.
