...I'm just never reading the Washington Post ever again.

Why?

Because they gave "Jackass: The Movie" a glowing review.

No, seriously.

And now, several hours of lassitude before life pounces again.

And, boy, has it pounced lately. The last of my single uncles is getting married, tomorrow. This means a lot of things: I've had to shop for an outfit (boy, it's really not easy to fit a CLAMP-male-esque body into the kind of clothes in the department stores), excavate the floor of my room, and prepare for the rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal dinner is here in my house. Which means a Catholic priest will be in my house. Tonight.

Luckily my mom likes my Seishirou/Subaru poster too much to insist that I take it down.

Also... my step-grandmother (granddad's second wife) has Alzheimer's, and a few days ago she couldn't remember whether her son and I had ever met (we've known each other for eight years). Then she couldn't remember how long her son had been married to his wife.

Then she couldn't remember my name.

It was only for half a minute or so, but... ouch.

I'm slowly catching up on my novel; anyone who wants the pages so far may feel free to email me or leave a comment on the ficblog. It's actually nice to have this looming deadline, because I've abandoned most of the slow-buildup, not-very-tense scenes for some far more dramatic ones--I'm really cutting loose. Getting back into the groove. Writing, for me, is a really kinetic process; I barely ever remember doing it, just the rush and the energy burn. The high.

Social bloggage, before I get swept up again:

...dear lord, I love your layout. They look like Charlie's Angels. XD

Dude, now I want to see 28 Days Later. It doesn't seem to have hit the US, though... or is that just my willful ignorance of pop culture talking? ^~

Ne, MD-chan. Can I have your permission to fic the phantom kisses log? Pretty please? I promise I'll do TR9 first...

Bartlett for President, yo.

Oh. Um. By the way. Can I beg people to send me emails? I kinda want emails. I need to be poked into writing, because Seishirou and Subaru are in my brainspace and they both need a good hard kick in order to start spitting out the dense little vignettes they seem to want.

...phew.

Just so y'all know, the fic blog will probably be getting somewhat more attention than this blog for at least the next few days. Tabula Rasa and NaNoWriMo project EET LISA HED.

In other news, I hate sinus headaches and I want to die. T_T

But I got an awesome email yesterday, so I can die happy. I think. Wait, no, shit, can't die until TR is finished. ARGH.

...come on, Sudafed. Do your facking job. T______T

The fic blog is getting mad updates at the moment, seeing as the novel-writing has begun in earnest.

At the moment, there are only a few things I'd really, really like out of life:
* Isabel Allende's new book, City of Beasts (I think that's the title).
* The Carnivorous Carnival by Lemony Snicket.
* Clive Barker's new semi-children's book.
* The Tokyo Babylon drama track.

...and, because I have been so sick I've missed work and social engagements alike for two days straight:
love meeeeeeee. T_T

Spent a couple of minutes this morning just staring at my clear poster of the Seishirou/Subaru wedding image.

Rifled through the images on my hard drive and put the Tokyo Babylon image soundtrack into my CD player. Skimmed over "the devil's trill", which I haven't read... pretty much since I released it. Printed out all of "Nukume Dori", "X Therapy", "Kiss or Kill", and "At The Edge of Infinity". Pulled up chapter 9 of "Tabula Rasa" in the HTML editor. Reoriented the space on my desk around my keyboard so the pack of Mild Sevens is next to my left hand and a binder full of good fic is next to my right.

And I'm in love with the whole damn mess all over again.
