I have
Order of the Phoenix, all fifty episodes of Saiyuki TV (though I've watched 1-16 or thereabouts), and two art-packs to finish and send off.
So if I'm gone for most of the weekend, or if I sign onto AIM at two in the morning and assault anyone with wild screaming of the "OMGWTF HOW COULD IT END LIKE THAT" variety... just pull out the horse tranquilisers. Or a small shiny object. ^_^

Boy, you know it's going to be a fun con when the only costumes you can decently pull off are TB Subaru without the red jacket and the honking great Death Tarot Card Shikifuku Seishirou.
In other words, whee AnimeMidAtlantic! Be back Sunday. ^_^

^_^ Okay, I now know where Setsuka's name comes from. (Thank you to everybody who knew/made wild guesses!)
And, dude, I have a printout of the drama track translation. She
bites his finger. Sure, Seishirou, you don't have issues. We'll just be over here with the army of therapists...
(You know, it's really
all your fault that I suddenly envisioned the therapists as spirit hamsters with Freud mustaches and glasses and clipboards. also lisa need bed go boom crash.)

Crossposted to my
ficblog, because this is eeting me.
How
exactly did we find out that Seishirou's mom is named Setsuka? He never says her name in the manga as far as I know, and it
can't be fanon because the Japanese fanartists use it... any idea where that random factlet came from? o_O

Okay, those white skittles are the nastiest thing
ever. They taste like three-month-old stale Trix. XP

So tonight was my little sister's junior prom. (She looked
gorgeous, by the way, and did quite possibly the classiest thing ever with her corsage by wearing the three white roses in her hair.)
Before she left, the remake of "Carrie" came on TV.
IRONY IS MY BITCH, YO. XD~~~~~~

I think the fingertips of my left hand just went numb. @_o
But the good news is that I can now play a couple of chords on my lovely acoustic guitar! Not, uh, very well, but the E chord sounds reasonably like an E chord, and the A chord isn't, you know, flat.
However, if I don't have that damn A chord nailed by the end of July, I'm going to invest in lessons. *burning calloused fist of determination!!*

So, yesterday my mom and I went out and hung around the bookstore (she's learned the word
manga, and this makes me
so happy), and she suddenly reaches across me and picks up this book and tells me she thinks I should read it.
So we bought it, and I'm halfway through it.
It's called
Them, and it's by Ron Jonson. And it's about the lunatic fringe--the people who believe that Jews rule the world from a basement somewhere and that gays are actively out to destroy society through witchcraft, but mostly that the Jews rule the world from a basement. Jonson followed these people around for years just listening to them, figuring out what they hated and what they saw themselves as fighting against.
It's a trip and a half. All these people taking bits and bobs of facts and not-facts and things they themselves think and feel and mushing it together to create conspiracy theories... and, you know, for all they say that the people ruling the world out of this little room are eeeeee-vile, I kind of have to wonder if they don't sort of
want that to be true. After all, if these Illuminati or whatever can control politicians worldwide, and the flow of money, and the
weather, what happens if they suddenly get dismantled?
(And, you know, I also realised... conspiracy theories are too easy, and that's why I don't like them. See, it's like the Heisenberg Compensator machine on Star Trek--the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle says you can either know the speed or the location of a molecule at any given time but neither both at the same time, and thus we can never actually teleport objects--and the Compensator just magically compensates for it. Conspiracy theories do that too--the world is a big, weird, unpredictable place, and having an explanation for why
all of that happens... man, sometimes I wonder what would happen if for April Fool's Day some paper ran headlines about the New World Order being dismantled, just to scare the shit out of the fringe. But then, I'm weird. XD)

Gmuh. I have to social blog and babble about my shiny new watercolour paints
(paaaaaaaaaaaaint *_*), but there's room cleaning and painting-finishing and ficblog-ranting and lunch to be done.
Plus I HAVE to find a theatre that's playing
Onmyouji. Because Pioneer's website says "limited theatrical release", and the DVD doesn't come out until August (beautiful cover art, though,
mon amour), and I'm a big geek. ^_^
...come on, little attention span, I know you can work right today!
